Overstimulated | A Short Film

Inspiration for Camera Work:

The camera work in Overstimulated is inspired by the contrast between chaos and calm. I wanted the visuals to reflect how overwhelming the world can feel when everything is moving too fast, but also how grounding it is to find those moments of peace. Close-ups and handheld shots capture the intensity of overstimulation, while smoother, more deliberate movements mimic the serenity she feels when her headphones are on.

My approach draws from filmmakers who use the camera not just to show a story but to make you feel it—like the raw intimacy of Sean Baker’s work or the quiet simplicity of Sofia Coppola’s. It’s all about letting the visuals speak as much as the characters do.
